Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking proposals from Construction firms for a Design-Build project. This procurement is to construct a new Extended Care Building at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines, Iowa. This solicitation includes all Design-Build services including labor, tools and equipment necessary for the design and construction of a new extended care building of approximately 111,000 SF and demolition of an existing building of approximately 44,000 SF including asbestos abatement. The Offeror shall furnish, obtain any and all necessary licenses and/or permits required to perform this work in the state of Iowa. Cost Range for this procurement is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220 with a Small Business Size Standard of $28.5 Million. This Solicitation is Unrestricted which will required a Subcontracting Plan from Large Business. The Subcontracting Goals are 40% SB, 10% SDB, 3% SDVOSB, 6% WOSB, 3% HUBZone and 7% VOSB. Solicitation documents will be available on or about July 27, 2005. A Pre-Proposal conference and Small Business Workshop is scheduled for August 8, 2005 at 1:00 PM Local Time in Building 2, VA Central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines, Iowa. Sealed proposals are due to the Contracting Officer by August 26, 2005, 3:30 PM EDT. There will be no public opening. The Project Manager for this procurement is Karen Wieckowski, (224) 610-3891. All Offeror must ensure that their firms have the ability to provide both 100% Performance and 100% Payment Bonds.
