Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase an SP1? Auto-Purification System with accessories from Biotage Inc., 1725 Discovery Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22911. The following specifications are required: 1) Shall be operable without an independent computer with a user friendly touch screen GUI interface; 2) Shall be able to run at least four flash columns in tandem; 3) Shall generate flow rates up to 100 mL/min; 4) Shall handle back pressures of up to 100 psi; 5) Column cartridge holder shall induce radial compression to give high-resolution separations; 6) Shall have a small footprint not larger than 19 inches wide; 7) Shall have four solvent capabilities and a choice of gradients; 8) Shall have a broad range of fraction collection sizes (1 mL to 250 mL); 9) Shall be able to run columns greater than 65 mm in diameter at high flow rates for large scale purification; and 10) Shall have a variable wavelength detector; 11) Automatically creates accurate gradient profiles and determines ideal column sizes, flow rates, and sample amount based on entered TLC data for high resolution runs. The Institute intends to purchase this equipment by other than full and open competition from Biotage Inc. To the best of the Government?s knowledge they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment. Interested vendors may identify, in writing, their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Officer prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received before the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-05-435 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is August 12, 2005. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing and may be FAXED to 301-480-4226. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774C, Bethesda, Maryland 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun. FAX quotations must contain offerors names, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
