Description
Modification 01 This announcement fully replaces fedbizopps notice posted July 11, 2005.This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Mammal Laboratory located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to perform analysis for determination of populations of subspecies of steller sea lions. The contractor shall perform the following analysis a.) conduct mitochondrial control region and cytochrome b sequence analyses from all pup tissue samples submitted for 2004 and 2005, b) begin a project to examine Y-chromosome markers by designing a system to analyze large tracks of sequence in order to obtain variable sites to do a population analyses c.) Results of analysis shall be provided within six months of receipt of samples from National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML) and provide report of sample analysis and disposition to NMML at the time the results to NOAA. Report to NMML will include sample number, date analyzed, type of analysis conducted and segment of mtDNA analyzed, and haplotype identification code. NOAA believes this to be sole source with Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, Texas A&M because the majority of samples to be used in this work have already been prepared (DNA extracted from existing samples) and are housed at Texas A&M, in order for this work to reach full fruition more than one year of sample collection is necessary. The use of mtDNA markers in conjunction with Y-chromosome markers is a unique ability that Texas A&M developed and retains. A firm-fixed price order will be issued with performance period of one year from date of issuance with option to renew for two years. This notice may represent the only official notice. This notice closes COB July 27, 2005. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100, 000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
