Description

St. Joe Ranger District, Shoshone County, Idaho. Project involves removing two culverts and replacing them with structural plate arches. The culverts are located at two separate sites, Cascade Creek and Bluebells Creek, which are approximately one mile apart. The Contractor will furnish and install the arches with precast concrete footings placed three feet below existing stream grade. The arches will be assembled on site according to the manufacturers recommendations. The arches will be backfilled inside with native stream material, replicating the existing stream. The Cascade Creek site will require excavation and embankment to raise the existing road grade. Both sites will require removal and disposal of existing structures, dewatering, structural excavation, commercial source aggregate and riprap, seeding and fertilizing. The Bluebells Cr. site will also require the construction of an aggregate surfaced rolling dip. No work in stream or diversion of a stream will be allowed outside the period of July 15 thru September 1 of any calendar year. Estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. Estimated start work July 2006 with completion by September 15, 2006.
