Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Forensic-Computers.com to acquire forensic computers Office of Inspector General Electronic Crimes Team. Forensic-Computers.com is the only known vendor capable of manufacturing computers used specifically for computer forensics and analysis. REQUIREMENTS: The Following equipment specifications will serve as the basis for equipment to be used in a Forensic Laboratory. The equipment will be used in the analysis of digital and electronic media. Because of the extremely complex nature of this work, it is necessary that the equipment being requested meet the specifications below. Major commercial and computer manufactures do not have the forensic experience to properly test and validate their systems for use in the computer forensic field. For this reason, the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Electronic Crimes Team (ECT) requires equipment that can be opened and maintained by the agency without the warranty being voided. We are also seeking equipment, which after 2 to 3 years is capable of being refurbished and upgraded. It is also requested that companies validate their experience in building computers used specifically for computer forensics and analysis. One of the major requirements of the systems is that they include removable drive bays that are protected to prevent the changing of digital evidence. The system must include components to write protect IDE, SATA, and SCSI hard drives as well as 12 different types of electronic media like Compact Flash Cards. **See attached Specifications** Interested sources that believe they have the capability to manufacture/fulfill the above requirement should submit a capability statement to Stacey Walker via email at Stacey.Walker@ssa.gov. Responses shall be marked SSA-RFQ-05-1565, CAPABILITY STATEMENT, and shall be received no later than JULY 15, 2005, 1:00PM EST. All responsible sources will be considered. If no responses are received by the cutoff date, a solicitation will be issued directly to Forensic-Computers.com. All questions must be submitted in writing to Stacey Walker via the email address listed above. Telephone calls will NOT be accepted.
