INNOVATIVE TACTICAL TECHNOLOGY The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has issued a number of Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) through its various technology offices. All DARPA BAAs, as well as other DARPA related announcements maybe accessed at www.darpa.mil/baa For example, the DARPA Tactical Technology Office (TTO) has solicited proposals under BAA 05-22 for advanced research and development of system and subsystem level technologies that when integrated into the tactical environment provide revolutionary improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the military (click here for FEDBIZOPPS Synopsis or go to http://www.darpa.mil/baa/baa05-22.htm). The Program Executive Office for Littoral and Mine Warfare and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will host an industry day briefing at the Officers' & Faculty Club, United States Naval Academy, 2 Truxtun Road, Annapolis, MD 21402, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on 17 August 2005, to describe Navy far-term functional requirements in the Littoral and Mine Warfare mission area, and to answer questions from industry on this effort in order to stimulate the submission of white papers and proposals in response to DARPA BAA05-22 or any other relevant DARPA BAAs. The following technology areas will be the focus of the briefing: 1. Long range, non-lethal weapons against small boats, swimmers and air-planes 2. Non-lethal large vessel stopping capability Seating is limited, therefore, only individuals who pre-register will be guaranteed seating. Advance notification of attendance is required, no later than the close of business on 15 July 2005. Lunch will be served and there will be a $20 conference fee. This notice is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as any obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of any information submitted in response to this notice. Interested parties should refer to the individual DARPA BAA for instructions on how to submit white papers or proposals. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request.
