- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate a follow-on SOLE SOURCE procurement with LabWare, Inc. to provide consulting services, software/hardware support, implementation, maintena nce and training services in support of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), developed for the U.S. Air Force Medical Services/ U. S. Air Force Modernization Directorate. LIMS was developed for managing clinical specimens, molecular diagno stics assays, bioinformatics, and all related databases and documents. LabWare, Inc. is the developer of the proprietary system and is uniquely qualified to provide the services to support the scalable, comprehensive Laboratory Management System. The sof tware is their proprietary property and no other manufacturer or source has access to their software license. This is a SOLE SOURCE procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes. However, responses received fr om other responsible businesses prior to close of business on 20 July 2005 will be evaluated. Offerors responding to this notified must provide proof that they can provide the requested services.
