- NOTICE OF INTENT TO PROCURE A BUNDLED CONTRACT: The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) 797-NC-05-0052 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) for Acyclovir Capsules and Tablets. The estimated annual usage of Acyclovir Capsules is as follows: 19,310 bottles of 200mg capsules in bottles of 100 each and 20,750 bottles of 200mg capsules in bottles of 500 each. The estimated annual usage of Acyclovir Tablets is as follows: 7,450 bottles of 400mg in bottles of 100; 2,550 bottles of 400mg tablets in bottles of 500; 11,650 bottles of 800mg tablets in bottles of 100 and 1,545 bottles of 800mg tablets in bottles of 500. The estimated quantities listed above are for VA and DoD only. The Bureau of Prison (BoP) and Indian Health Service (IHS) requirements may be forthcoming and will be included in the solicitation once issued. Award will be made on the package size most advantageous to the Government. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoDs respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor. Offerors must provide bar code labeling which includes at a minimum the NDC number. In addition, tablets and capsules must be compatible with automatic dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of August 11, 2005 from the VA Office of Acquisition and Material Managements (O&AMM) internet web site @ http://www.va.gov/oamm/busopp/sols.htm.
