Description
The Department of Energy, Radiological and Environmental Sciences Laboratory (RESL), has the requirement for rotary evaporator system. This system is to be used for preparation of performance evaluation soil standards in support of the Mixed Analyte Performance Evaluation Program. Limited laboratory space requires that the system be free standing and compact in design. The system must also be mounted in a portable fashion so it can be easily moved from storage location to use location with a minimal of effort. The system must be fully self-contained to include; support cart, water chiller, rotary evaporator unit, associated glassware, and vacuum support pumps. The sample flasks must be baffled to achieve adequate mixing of the soil during the evaporation process. The evaporation flask neck must be large enough for a man with large hands to be able to place his hand within the flask for scraping soil from the sides of the flask after drying. The system must be fitted with a system of adding solvents to the flask during operation, without disassembly. The system must be automated for unsupervised operation and fitted with automatic shutoffs in the case the bath should run dry. All these requirements are crucial and none are negotiable. The specifications are attached. The Buchi Rotavapor R-220 rotary evaporator system is the only known product that meets all these requirements. Interested parties that believe they can provide an instrument that fulfills the requirements may respond to this request within ten days from the date of publication of this synopsis. All quotes must be submitted by e-mail to the contract specialist listed below. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (01-JUL-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
