Description: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Order Under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-03-G-0009 to procure and install Solid State Recorder (SSR) retrofit kits under ECP Number 6212 entitled ?Incorporation of Solid State Recorder (SSR)? into 24 United States Navy (USN) F/A-18 Aircraft. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this Order on a sole source basis with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR?s requirements.
