Description
Announcing the 1st Annual "Airborne Network Technology Review Days" to be conducted at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Utica, New York on 23 - 24 August 2005; hosted by Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Rome Research Site with administrative support provided by the Erie Canal Chapter of AFCEA. The objective of the Review Days is to provide a forum for industry and academia to discuss with government representatives the technologies required for formulation of the deployable airborne network (s) ? "One of the Top-10 technologies that will revolutionize the world"[MIT Technology Review Magazine May 2005]. These Review Days will highlight approaches and current plans by the Department of Defense to deploy Airborne Networks. Participants will have the opportunity to engage industry and government researchers and scientists to discuss approaches to solving the obstacles of networking airborne assets, review technology demonstrations, and discuss various experiments and practices. Features: a) Keynote address from senior Air Force & DoD Leadership, b) overviews from the Military Services on their perspectives for implementing ConstellationNet, ForceNet and LandwarNet capabilities, c) an FAA overview of the airborne internet, d) technology presentations from Government researchers and a Technology Panel session focused on technology challenges and gaps. Posters and demonstrations highlighting some of AFRL's current technology developments will be available. Additional Review Days details are available at http://www.afceaeriecanal.org. Contractor participation at the Review Days is limited to a maximum of two (2) individuals per organizational location and total attendance will be limited to 250 persons. Clearances are not required and all discussions will be unclassified. Note: this is NOT a "bidder's conference" and this announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind. The Government will NOT assume liability for costs incurred by an offeror for travel expenses, presentations, marketing efforts or data offered for examination; therefore the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government. Registration for the Industry Day can be made on-line starting 21 June 2005 at http://www.afceaeriecanal.org. The Registration Fees are as follows: Early Bird (received by 7 August). $250.00; 8 August to 22 August 2005, $300.00; At the Door, $350.00. Government Employees are $200.00. Registration Fee includes conference costs, continental breakfasts, lunches, and refreshments for each day, handout materials, and a dinner on August 23, 2005.
