- DESCRIPTION: GROUND BASED NAVIGATION AIDS This is a competitive acquisition for commercial items. This effort is to produce, test, and deliver to the Royal Air Force Oman (RAFO) ground based navigational aids to include: a. One (1) Airport Surveillance Radar/Secondary Surveillance Radar (ASR/SSR) System providing radar approach control service to include sequencing and separation of aircraft, navigation assistance, and airspace control services within the terminal airspace area. The system shall include: electronics, shelter, antenna and all necessary cabling and interconnects, two (2) year supply of on-site spares, two (2) year manufacturer?s warranty, site survey and site survey report, specialized test equipment, factory acceptance test and report, system installation and site acceptance test and report, support to customer commissioning flight test, in-country contractor provided equipment operation and maintenance familiarization instruction, and operations and maintenance manuals (in English). b. Seventy (70) UHF/VHF Secure Ground to Air Communications Transceivers with Have Quick 2 and voice and data transmission for Forward Air Controllers. The data transmission is to be compatible with the Oman F-16 Improved Data Modem (IDM. Also included: two (2) year supply of on-site spares, two (2) year manufacturer?s warranty, factory acceptance test and reports, and operations and maintenance manuals (in English). c. Twenty (20) HF Secure Communications Transceivers to be used by Forward Air Controllers. The system will be operated as man pack and vehicle mounted. Also included: two (2) year supply of on-site spares, two (2) year manufacturer?s warranty, factory acceptance test and reports, and operations and maintenance manuals (in English). d. Six (6) Administration Ground Management VHF Radio Base Stations, including two hundred and fifty (250) hand-held radio sets with encryption. Also included: any necessary cabling and antennas, two (2) year supply of on-site spares, two (2) year manufacturer?s warranty, factory acceptance test and reports, and operations and maintenance manuals (in English).
