Description
Provide all labor, equipment and material service to overburden drilling, standard penetration tests, and geotechnical soil samplings at 9 locations at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mud Mountain Dam (MMD) fish trap and haul facility near Buckle y, Washington (Figure 1). The purpose of the work is to obtain blow counts using a Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and to collect soil samples in order to evaluate subsurface conditions beneath the existing dam and along the banks adjacent to the dam. T he work includes drilling nine borings each to ten feet into volcanic bedrock (see Figure 2). The borings shall be no greater than 6-inches diameter. Depth to bedrock is 60 to 100 feet in the river channel and banks; up to 200 feet on higher ground. For costing, assume 1000 total feet of boring. Borings along the dam will be sited on the downstream apron which is composed of three-foot thick concrete underlying 12-inch timber. Another boring (B-2) is located within fish trap facility and will require set up on a 3-inch asphalt surface. Access to B-1, B-2, B-8 & B-9 is narrow, about 7 to 9 feet wide. Access to the dam may involve driving through about 1 to 2 feet water flow in accordance with Statement of Work and drawings dated 15 June 2005.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541380 which is matched to SIC code 8734.
