- This project consists of mapping out existing vegetation on up to 1,866,000 acres. The vegetation mapping shall comply with Federal Geographic Data Committee(FGDC) standards and specifically with existing USDA Foerst Service standards for vegetation mapping to mid-level with enhancements to national mid-level standard required for project level mapping. The final products ia a GIS coverage of existing vegetation and an accuracy assessment of the mapped attributes. This product will be used as baseline for project level vegetation management planning and monitoring. Work methods and technologies employed in this project shall meet the specified levels of precision and accuracy stated in the solicitation. The project is located in the southern part of the Cascades and Northern section of the Sierra Nevada Range and inculdes the remainder of the HFQLG Pilot project that was not mapped in the Plumcas-Lassen administrative Study Vegetation Mapping project completed in 2003. The project spans all ownerships within the project boundary and includes parts of the Lassen, Plumas, and Tahoe National Forest. Field reconnaisance and quality control checks will be limited to National Forest lands. This contract does not provide a right to enter private land. This solicitation will be available for electronic download on or around July 5, 2005.
