- The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to award on a sole source basis a fixed price purchase order to Ahura Corporation, Wilmington, MA for the purchase of one (1) First Defender Hand Held Raman Spectrometer with built in library. This Spectrometer must be portable; able to identify materials in less than 30 seconds; must be capable of accurate identification of chemicals to include Chemical Warfare Agents, explosives, powders, and narcotics; must be able to identify materials in either free air, contained in a plastic bag or contained in glass vials; self contained with a built in computer requiring no outside components to function; must be able to function in a temperature range of -20C to +40C,; must have a rechargeable battery with 5 hours of operational time; must be Mil 810F shockproof; waterproof and ruggedized; next day loaner availability, and a 24-hour support line.
