- Synopsis of IDIQ supply irrigation pipe and fitting contract Interlocking pipe and fittings This solicitation is a request for quotation for interlocking pipe and fittings. The contractor will provide interlocking piping (spline and grooved connections) for use in an aboveground non-potable water irrigation system. Estimated solicitation issuance date is 17 Jun 2005. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 326122 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is a 100% set-aside for small business. All piping and fitting shall contain impact modifiers, high-purity TiO2 ultraviolet inhibitors to provide impact strength over an extended period of time. All piping and fittings shall be provided in 3” nominal diameter and be gasketed with O-rings to allow for assembly and disassembly as required by field conditions. Pressure rating on piping and fittings shall be a minimum of 125 psi and meet the performance requirements of ASTM D2241. All fittings and couplings shall be provided with Teflon coated O-ring seals factory installed. The fittings and couplings shall have precision grooves on the pipe and the fitting/coupling, so as when married together, they will be properly aligned to allow spline to be insert and provide a hydraulic seal equal to or greater then the pipe pressure rating. The groove and spline system shall be able to be disassembled and reassembled to allow for ease of maintenance and various configurations. These salient characteristics of piping and fittings are based on Certa-Lok Yelomine manufactured by CertainTeed Corporation. Offers may provide equal type of piping in the required configuration as described above. Offers must provide all necessary information necessary to assure their proposed piping and fittings are equal to or better per the salient characteristics of piping and fittings based on Certa-Lok Yelomine manufactured by CertainTeed. A one year indefinite delivery contract will be awarded. The size of pipings and fitting required are: 3 inch diameter pipe - 5 meter length, 3 inch diameter 90 degree Elbow Fitting, 3 inch diameter End Plug Fitting, 3 inch diameter Tee Fitting, 3 inch Coupling Fitting, 3"x3"x1" Sled Fitting with Riser Quick Connect Cap, and 3 inch groove and spline with Male Pipe Thread, Adaptor. Pipe lengths are required to be 5 meters to provide necessary sprinkler head spacings. A “sled” fitting with ¾ inch quick connect cap for riser pipe (Not required in supply contract) to provide for the 5 meter grid sprinkler system. Pipe and fittings are to be delivered to USDA, Forest Service Savannah River. For delivery 72 hours notification is required to process any security badge requests for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days could be required for non-U.S. citizens. Offerors must register on this website in order to receive notification of changes to the solicitation.
