Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The VA Heartland Network 15 has a requirement for Complete Installation of a Security Access System for the VA Medical Center, Research Department, Jefferson Barracks Division, St. Louis, MO 63125. The Government intends to negotiate the requirement sole source with Cam-Dex Security Corporation, 2408 Centerline Industrial Drive, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. The sole source determination is based upon the need to maintain integrity of the medical center system and not create conflicts of interest by having two separate contractors working on the same system. Cam Dex Security Corporation is the current maintenance contractor for the medical center. For these reasons it is in the Government’s best interest to negotiate solely with Cam Dex Security Corporation. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 561621 and the Size Standard is $10.5 M. The acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is noted that FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement is not applicable to simplified acquisitions. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties are requested to review the above requirements, and submit a statement of interest that must be submitted on or before June 24, 2005, 4:00 p.m. CST. The determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
