Description
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Upstate New York Service Center announces it’s requirement to procure commercial items and commercial installation services (construction) for the installation of Institutional Furniture at the Department of Homeland Security Detention Facility located in Batavia, New York. This synopsis is for commercial items and commercial installation services prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the FAR, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to providing supervision, equipment, labor and material to provide and install fiberglass form molded Institutional Furniture (beds, shelves, chairs, & tables.) The installation of the bed units consist of 24 universal lower floor mounted beds and 24 universal wall mounted upper beds in conjunction as a system with integrated bed stairs and 24 four shelf wall mounted units. (The separation wall between existing fiberglass bunk systems is for privacy and provides no structural support to the upper bed in a cantilevered fashion. The existing bed systems are structurally supported at the free end by the integrated ladder and structural reinforcement) Provide the following free standing furniture: 12 Day Room Tables with 48 armless chairs. This work is anticipated to begin in the Summer 2005 and be completed no later that early Fall of 2005. The magnitude of this project is estimated between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 337127 and the size standard is $28.5 million. Performance and payment bond will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. Wage determination in accordance with the Davis Bacon Act will be included in the solicitation package. Funds are currently available for this acquisition. A firm, fixed-price contract is contemplated. It is the Government’s intention to make award to the lowest-priced, responsive, responsible offeror found to be technically acceptable and whose price is found to be fair and reasonable. However, the Government reserves the right to conduct negotiations if it is determined to be in its best interest to do so. Potential offerors having the capabilities to perform the services described herein are invited to respond by submitting the following information: a one-page letter on company letterhead stating interest in the project; a copy of a valid business license or other documentation granted by the State or local jurisdiction to conduct business (containing at a minimum the following information- name, address, phone number of the company, state of incorporation, and the name of the individual legally authorized to act for the company); a valid DUNS number for the business whose license is presented (If a company does not have a Duns number please contact Dun & Bradstreet at (1-800-362-3425); a valid IRS Tax ID number for the business whose license is presented; and a valid picture state drivers license of the person(s) to whom the documentation is to be entrusted. Firms providing this information will be provided a copy of the Request for Proposals (RFP) package. The tentative date for release of the RFP is July 22, 2005. The RFP will provide additional information regarding the proposal submission format and will be issued via mail to interested parties. Letters of interest and support documentation should be mailed to the attention of Steven S. Manufacturers of Institutional Furniture, or their authorized local dealers/installers, are requested to respond with commercial catalog cut sheets or a website reference to the attention of Steven S. Tompkins, at the above address. Please indicate the Institutional Furniture manufacturer, capacity, options, and any applicable constraints in meeting the objectives described above.
