- NASA/KSC has a requirement for the following: ITEM NO. 1. PRO-SPOT Target Projection System, Quantity: 1 lot. This system consists of a Quantity of 1 each of the following items: A) PRO-SPOT Projector; B) PRO-SPOT Power Unit; C) High-power AC Cable; D) External Sync Cable; E) Projector Slide w/ 5600 points; and F) System Case for all PRO-SPOT Items. ITEM NO. 2. Heavy Duty Tripod and Mechanical Pan Head (used to position the PRO-SPOT Projector), Quantity: 1 lot; ITEM NO. 3. Projector Slide with density of 1,400 points, Quantity: 1 each; ITEM NO. 4. Projector Slide with density of 22,500 points, Quantity: 1 each; ITEM NO. 5. Projector Slide, C-RING Type for M System usage, with density of 22,500 points, Quantity: 1 each; ITEM NO. 6. PRO-SPOT T Mount (holds PRO-SPOT and two cameras), Quantity: 1 each; ITEM NO. 7. Dolly with Tray (use with Heavy Duty Tripod and holds PRO-SPOT Power Unit), Quantity: 1 each; and ITEM NO. 8. On-Site Training - 8 hrs - Training to be held at NASA, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL 32899. Cost of the class includes materials such as Training Manuals and/or handouts. Date of the On-Site Training shall be coordinated by the Contractor and the NASA Technical Representative. Quantity: 1 lot. NASA, KSC intends to purchase the required add-on devices from Geodetic Systems, Inc. on a sole source basis through the authority of FAR 6.302-1 ?only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements?. This requirement is a follow-on for add-on devices required for the continued development of an existing V-Stars Photogrammetry System that NASA, KSC currently uses that was purchased in June 2002 from Geodetic Systems, Inc. This system was designed and manufactured by Geodetic Systems, Inc. The add-on devices must be fully compatible with the existing system. Geodetic Systems, Inc. also designs and manufactures add-on devices for the V-Stars Photogrammetry System. The add-on devices will enhance the measurement capabilities of the existing system. Geodetic Systems, Inc. is the only known source that can provide add-on devices that are fully compatible with the existing V-Stars Photogrammetry System and meets all the requirements of NASA, KSC. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing in writing by mail, fax or e-mail, to Susan J. Wall not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 21, 2005. Please copy Marco Pochy (secondary contact) on all correspondence. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
