- NASA/GRC has a requirement for an HiQ upgrade to the Sinterstation 2500 plus. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from 3D Systems, Inc. GRC currently owns and uses the 3D Systems, Inc. Sinterstation 2500 plus and is upgrading to the HiQ system level. Because the HiQ upgrade is a proprietary product of 3D Systems, Inc. they are the only company qualified to provide the upgrade. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 6/28/2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
