- Description
- It is the intent of the Government to negotiate on a sole source basis with Twin Loops Irrigation District for assistance in the investigation and repair of voids under the spillway chute and stilling basin at Virginia Smith Dam. This action is consistent with Reclamation Policy regarding participation of water contractors in the dam safety modification process. Twin Loops Irrigation District is currently responsible for the operation and maintenance of Virginia Smith Dam and has a direct interest in the continued safe operation of the facility. The work will include unwatering and cleaning debris from the spillway stilling basin, maintaining the stilling basin in an unwatered condition while Reclamation performs investigations and repairs, providing access and working platforms within the stilling basin for Reclamation personnel, providing equipment and materials for grouting voids and repair of drill holes, assisting in post-construction inspection of the spillway stilling basin and outfall channel, and assisting in the removal of stoplogs from the stilling basin.
