Description
DESC: The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to DSM-Xplore/ DSM Research B.V. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 334513. The following item will be procured: CLIN 0001 - 15ml Twin-Screw Micro-Compounder (with shipping); CLIN 0002 - Film Device with 1 file die (0.4mm) 0003 - Film Die (0.2mm), CLIN 0004 Installation and Training Essential Technical Qualifications for Acquisition: Microcompounder must be able to (1) extrude, compound, mold, and perform rheological measurements on samples as small as 5 to 15 grams (2) use a conical screw design with a recirculating channel to allow for various mixing times (3) have a vertical configuration and variable shear rates (4) A Film Processing Device that is compatible with a 5cm^3 DSM X-Plore Microcompounder currently in-house, and interchangeable between 5cm^3 and the desired 15cm^3 in this acquisition. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete technical quote, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. In addition, the response should include any special requirements for a commercial contract (i.e., Commercial Financing, Warranty Provisions, Delivery Information, etc.) in accordance with FAR Part 12. Anticipated Award date is June 27, 2005. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, June 24, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Facsimile responses are acceptable and must be received on or before the closing date. Telephone requests to be placed on a mailing list will not be honored.
