- Contractor shall provide all tools, labor, materials, and supervision to perform all work required for Project 679-307 ?New Dietetic Facility? at the VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E., Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404 in accordance will plans and specifications. Work for this project involves the building of a new single story facility to include mechanical and electrical rooms, kitchen space, office space, freezer and cooler installation, storage rooms, men?s and women?s locker and rest rooms, loading dock and unloading docks, paving and concrete work, and all other trades associated with the building of a new facility for food preparation. It is a requirement of this contract that the awarded contractor will be required to provide an OSHA certified ?competent person? who shall have 30 hours of the OSHA Certified Construction Safety Course, all other persons working on this project shall have completed the 10 hour OSHA Certified Construction Safety Course. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or about July 5, 2005, with an estimated bid opening date of August 4, 2005. The National American Industry Classification system (NAICS) Code is 236220 and size standard of $28.5 million applies for this procurement. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds, and is Set-Aside as an 8(a) Competitive procurement. There will be two (2) pre-bid conferences and walk through of the project, and it is highly recommended that all who intend to submit a bid attend one of the 2 pre-bid conferences and walk through there times and location will be addressed in the cover page of the solicitation. All solicitation packages will be available for downloading from the website www.fedbizopps.gov/ listed in this announcement. NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE PROVIDED. However, drawings will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Only twenty-five (25) sets of drawings will be issued. All requests for drawings and/or questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Paul Weathersby (10N7/NLO), VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or via fax number (205) 554-2894. It is highly recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will be available ONLY at the website. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments from the website.
