- The U.S. Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office and the U. S. Embassy, Asuncion, are seeking qualified offerors for the construction of SENAD (National Drugs Secretariat) residential offices to be located in Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay. This project consists of approximately 852 square meters of office and residential buildings. Construction requirements include the following: Housing for 34 males and 6 females, with separate sleeping areas and bathrooms; Kitchen; Combined living/dining room; Outside maid quarters/laundry area; Reception area in front; Conference room; Outside storage; Two outside holding cells for 4 persons each; Exterior sensor or motion detection lighting; 9 foot high brick wall surrounding the property, with razor wire or similar; Entrance with motorized sliding portion, large enough for a tour bus to enter; and Installation of vents and air conditioners. The project also entails site preparation and civil works to accommodate site utilities, storm drainage and sewage. The solicitation is planned for release in June 2005, with contract award expected in August 2005. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately 8 months from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type shall be firm-fixed price. The estimated value of construction is between $150,000 and $300,000.
