ISSUE DATE: June 13, 2005 POSTED DATE: June 13, 2005 TITLE: Notice of Intent to Procure Sole Source SOL: RFQ10N3-200-05 DUE: 6/20/05 NAICS: 423450 POP STATE: Not specified AGENCY: Attn: Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Medical Center POC: Greg Vogt DESCRIPTION: This is a notice of intent of the Bronx VA Medical Center, 130 W. Kingsbridge Rd., Bronx, NY to negotiate sole source with Terumo Cardiovascular Systems Crop., located at 6200 Jackson Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Terumo shall provide the Dept .of Rehabilitation an instrument which measures CO2 reactivity, Vaso motor testing for heart circulation for blood flow to the brain for spinal cord injured patients. Terumo?s Spenser PMD-100 Bilateral Digital Transcranial Doppler System will provide the Investigator with the capacity to capture, read and retain findings in a form uniquely consistent with other records relating to the research. The most important factor is that the company has flow track software which shows 32 gates of information that reads 32 beams that is shot into the head of the patient as opposed to 1 beam. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302 (6.302-2,(ii) (A)) And FAR Part 15. The authority cited and justification made is based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by the equipment available from one source. One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. NAICS code is 423450, size standard is $6.0 million. Solicitation packages are not available and telephone requests will not be honored. This notice is for information only and may represent the only official notice of such solicitation. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
