Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals: (Army, Navy, Air Force) Southwest Region PREGNANCY TEST KITS: Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, Southwest Region, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Pregnancy Test Kits. Southwest Region, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Pregnancy Test Kits. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) or an Electronic Catalog (ECAT) contract with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) on Pregnancy Test Kits, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@nmcsd.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than June 22, 2005. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. . 1.Does your company manufacture or distribute professional rapid pregnancy test kits? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor and/or Electronic Catalog (ECAT)? 3.What is your DAPA number and/or ECAT Contract No.? 4.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5.Under what standards is your product manufactured? 6.Does your company have a literature review and/or College of American Pathologist proficiency test results? If so, please provide as an attachment to your responses for these technical questions. 7.Is your product FDA approved for laboratory use with serum and urine? 8.Is your product designed to keep the technician safe from Blood Borne Pathogen exposures? 9.How many days after conception can your test detect human chorionic gonadotropin? 10.What is the level of sensitivity and specificity for serum and urine and how does it correlate with quantitative data? 11.How many steps are required to perform your test? How long should it take to perform these steps? 12.How long does it take to get results? 13.What indicates a positive result? 14.What indicates a negative result? 15.Do your kits have controls that prevent interference from other substances in the specimen? 16.What is your rate of false positive or false negative results? 17.Does your kit contain an internal control? 18.Does your kit contain an external control? 19.What is included in your test kit? 20.Does your kit contain all the supplies needed to perform a test? 21.How is your product packaged? 22.Is your product sterile or non-sterile? 23.Is your product single-use? 24.What is the shelf life of your product? 25.Can your product be stored at room temperature? 26.Is the use and function of the product easily identifiable on the packaging? 27.What method of disposal does your company recommend for this product once it has been used? Is there a different method for the disposal of unused product? 28.Does this product require in-service training? If so, is this training provided by your company at no charge? 29.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 30.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
