- The US Army, Tank-Automotive Armaments Command ??? Picatinny intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with B-Way, Inc., Homerville, GA to provide services to improve the current M2A1 Metal Ammunition Can to be a ???stand-alone??? packaging system without consolidation in a wirebound box. The improvement effort consists of a two-phased plan to implement subtle design enhancements to the M2A1 can and to produce and deliver 10 standard M2A1 cans and 230 improved M2A1 cans, plus associated data. The 10 standard M2A1 cans and 60 Phase I improved M2A1 cans are to be delivered 120 days after purchase order award and 170 Phase II improved M2A1 cans are to be delivered 180 days after purchase order award. B-Way, Inc. is the current producer of the M2A1 Metal Ammunition Can. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
