Description

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SSC San Diego) intends to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract with a hybrid firm fixed price/cost plus fixed fee pricing arrangement to R S Microwave, Butler, NJ. SSC San Diego intends to acquire, on a sole source basis, sixteen unique electronic devices as well as engineering research and development services. The sixteen devices will be procured utilizing a firm fixed price pricing arrangement. Of the sixteen items, one is a diplexer, one is a multiplexer, and the remaining fourteen items are filters. The engineering services will be utilized to either modify existing diplexers, multiplexers, and filters or to design new items in accordance with the Government's needs. The engineering services will be procured utilizing a cost plus fixed fee pricing arrangement. The ordering period is anticipated to be five years duration. This procurement will be conducted using other than full and open competition pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.) R S Microwave is the only known manufacturer of these items and has gained specialized knowledge and manufacturing experience the value of which would not be recovered through competition. This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is available. Numbered Note 22 applies.
