- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is pleased to announce the issuance of a draft solicitation (to be issued under the same reference number as this announcement: SSR-05-0008) for the procurement of Distinctive Currency Paper for industry comment. All interested suppliers are encouraged to submit questions regarding the draft solicitation or suggestions to improve the solicitation to promote competition. The anticipated period of performance is October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2012. The anticipated period of performance provides up to 24 months for mobilization and start up with production of currency paper limited to four years. The draft solicitation provides for the possibility of multiple/split awards by paper type and denomination. The planned contract type is Multi-year Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. The draft solicitation, with all attachments, is available for review on the Internet at GSA?s Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at www.fedbizopps.gov. In addition, the Bureau intends to hold a Currency Paper Conference on June 28, 2005. All interested parties are invited to attend provided pre-registration is submitted. The conference will address the draft solicitation and request industries participation in providing comments and suggestions to promote competition. The following instructions are provided to assist in locating the draft solicitation as well as registration information regarding the Currency Paper Conference: Click on FedBizOpps for Vendors, then click on TREAS (for Department of Treasury), click on Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), and then click on Posted Dates under June 08, 2005. It is the Bureau?s intent to periodically update this draft solicitation as Government requirements are finalized and to incorporate industry comments and concerns as appropriate. It is anticipated that a final solicitation will be issued on or about September 1, 2005.
