Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-03-G-0004 for engineering services required for support and evaluation of wind tunnel tests for the purpose of establishing preliminary store launch and jettison envelopes of top integrated load list (TILL) stores on the F/A-18E/F aircraft. An option is anticipated for the contractor to furnish the wind tunnel facility capable of performing the required tests. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this Order on a sole source basis with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MCD), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MCD is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR?s requirements.
