Description
All work shall be performed in the main hospital building (Bldg. 100) at the Portland Oregon VA Medical Center (3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Road). Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials to renovate approximately 30,000 square feet of space currently used for the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient Ward. The newly remodeled space will include Central Reception/Waiting, Endoscopy/GI space, Combined Surgical Preparatory and Complex Diagnostic space, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, and Short Stay Care Unit. The space will include corridors, rooms (including offices), medical rooms, reception/waiting area, control rooms, staff lounge, toilets, and miscellaneous rooms. Work shall be done in such a manner as to protect the structure of the building and avoid interference with VA operations outside the work site. Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Trades include, but are not limited to, general construction, medical gas fixtures and pluming, general pluming, electrical, HVAC, carpentry. This will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. NAICS Code 236220 applies (size standard is $28.5 million). The estimated price range is between $2 million and $5 million. The VA anticipates issuing the solicitation (including specifications and drawings) on or about 6/30/05. The date and time of the site-visit will be noted in the solicitation. The total time to complete the project is 800 days (less if one of the alternate deducts is selected). The project will be completed in 4 phases (there will be fewer phases if an alternate deduct is selected), and the contractor will have up to a 30 day waiting period in between phases to allow the VA to move personnel and operations.
