Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida is seeking proposals from 8(a) electrical contractors in the South Florida District of the Small Business Administration for a Design Build contract for a continuous duty power generation plant. The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, and materials to design and build a continuous duty power generation plant and expand electrical and signal distribution through out the Medical Center. The standby power portion of the project will contain three or four continuous duty diesel generators, which will supply a minimum 7.5 megawatts at 12,470 volts with associated switchgear. The generators will be of the makes of Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Cummins or equal that will utilize an air start system. The new generators will be positioned facing south to match the emergency generators in the connecting building. The radiators will be directly mounted on the individual generators. Each generator shall be supplied with its own day tank. The day tank should supply the generator with a minimum of two hours run time and not exceed 1000 gallons. The generator breather tubes will be vented to the outside of the building and separate oil drain lines for each generator will be piped to the outside driveway for oil changes. This is a 100% 8(a) set-aside for firms serviced by the South Florida District of the Small Business Administration. No web based documents are available.
