- Description
- The Department of Commerce, Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorological Services and Supporting Research (OFCM), is seeking companies currently involved in, or planning to develop, Phased Array Radar (PAR) technology. The OFCM?s Joint Action Group for the Phased Array Radar Project (JAG/PARP) has been tasked with identifying the potential need and benefit of a multi-functional array PAR system for aircraft and weather surveillance, and with documenting a research and development (R&D) strategy that would help identify whether PAR could be a viable future replacement option for existing U.S. weather and aircraft surveillance radars. This R&D strategy will be posted to the OFCM website (www.ofcm.gov) once published. A short background presentation can also be viewed at the OFCM website. Companies who are currently engaged in developing or implementing PAR technology are encouraged to respond to this notice by submitting capability statements that describe their current PAR activities or research. Capability statements should be submitted in electronic format to NWSAMD@noaa.gov. Capability statements must be submitted in .pdf format (readable by Adobe Acrobat) and limited to no more than 20 pages.
