- The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is soliciting proposals for Request For Proposals, RFP-C-JD4026, Huntington Station Parking Structure. This is a single phase Design Build (design & construction) "Best Value" negotiated procurement for a 1424 space, seven level parking structure to be located on the east side of the Huntington Metro Station and between the existing parking structures on the south side and north east side. The work will include but not limited to: Architectural, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Utilities, Communication (to include telephone, AFC, GETS and CCTV), required testing and reports. The successful Design-Builder will be responsible to obtain all permits and approvals from jurisdiction agencies including the Geotechnical Review Board of Fairfax County, for the construction of the parking structure. The Parking Structure is to be constructed on Marine Clays (in compliance with Fairfax County Geotechnical Review Board) requiring Structural and Foundation design for resistance to lateral forces due to the soil conditions. Determination of construction type (pre-cast, poured in place or other structures) deemed most beneficial to the Authority will be made during the evaluation process. The Parking Structure construction will be concurrent with other site development by others with limited access and lay-down areas within the construction envelope. The project estimate range is $15M - $20M and the proposed duration is18 months.
