Description

A design/build solicitation is anticipated to renovate approximately 34,000 SF of a 1943-era maintenance hangar at Dobbins ARB in Marietta, GA. The project is to upgrade two of the three bays. The design and construction includes the renovation and repair of infrastructure; installation of a tail enclosure for a C-130 aircraft, installation of new high-expansion foam fire protection system, and the installation of multiple overhead bridge crane monorail systems. All associated electrical and mechan ical system upgrades are included. In addition, this solicitation will include eight options, which are: 1) parachute drying tower; 2) storage mezzanine in bay; 3) paint ceiling in bay #2; 4) paint ceiling in bay #3; 5) engine shop air conditioning; 6) re paving of South access drive; 7) demolish chimneys and 8) elevation upgrade. The estimated value is from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Responses to this solicitation will be evaluated based on the best value for the Government in accordance with the follow ing evaluation criteria, which is listed in descending order of importance: 1) Experience; 2) Past Performance; 3) Technical Approach; 4) Project Management and 5) Subcontracting Information. Proposals are due on July 14, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. Louisville Loc al time. Plans and specifications will be available on or about June 1, 2005 and can be obtained by requesting a compact disk or by downloading from the web. Project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigate d or printed using Source View Reader. Both readers are contained in the solicitation package.
