Description

This is the first pre-solicitation notice. Another notice will be issued again prior to the release of the solicitation, and will be called a synopsis. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Prison Camp, plans to issue RFQ-50401-0039-05 for a Concrete Mud Slab which will consist of furnishing all the items listed: labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and necessary supervision for the complete installation of a new concrete mud slab at the Federal Prison Camp located in Bryan, Texas. The work will include but is not limited to the following: responsible for the removal of the moisture under the building to allow for placement of the concrete. The use of a lime material and fans can be used to aid in the drying process. Grading shall be done to ensure a contentious slope to the existing sump pit. Contractor shall be responsible for all fill materials. Contractor to provide a poly vapor barrier of not less than 6 mill in thickness. Concrete to have minimum compression strength of 2500 psi at 28 days. Concrete slab to be a minimum of 3" (inches) thick. 3/8" re-enforcement bar to be used at a maximum of 18" (inches) on centers. Expansion/Control joints shall be placed at a maximum distance of 20' (feet). Concrete to be a bull float/mop finish. Work encompasses an area of 120 ft. x 160 ft. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. This project is a total 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238110, which contains a size standard of $12 million. The period of performance for the resulting contract is 120 calendar days from the notice to proceed. The solicitation will be available on or about June 17, 2005, with an anticipated bid opening date of July 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The site does provide downloading instructions. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith Base and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
