- Description
- The Broadcasting Board of Governors/International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB), Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisitions Branch (M/CON/SA) intends to negotiate and award a Purchase Order (Contract) on a sole source basis with Continental Electronics Corp., 4212 S. Buckner Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75227. The NAICS code is 334416. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition that is applicable to this procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), Only one source and no other supplies or services would satisfy the Agency requirement. Continental Electronics Corp. is the designer and manufacturer of the Continental Solid State Modulation (SSM) Unit in Transmitter UDO-1 and UDO-2. They are the only vendor with the specifications to manufacture these replacement parts for the SSM units at the Thailand Transmitting Station. Alternate or substitute parts will not meet the station requirements. The following contract line items will be procured: Item 1. Transformer Power, Step-Down, Multi Sec, 11KV, 50/60HZ, 3PH, 600KVA. PRI, 24 ea @ 670VDC/27A Sec, Open, Dry Type (P/N 662-6199-030), Quantity: 1 each; Item 2. Print Wiring Board (P/N 175697-1), Quantity: 4 each. This Notice of intent is not a request for competitive price quotations. Interested firms or persons, may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government must receive all such price quotations by close of business 5PM EST, Friday, June 10, 2005 and shall reference RFQ No. CON-05-0027 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order (contract) based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
