- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: The Coast Guard Engineering Logistic Center is seeking potential sources who can manufacture a hardened and ground ring and plug gauge for CGC 110’ propulsion shafts. The dimensions of the ring and plug gauge are as follows: The ring is 21 inches in length and the large end bore size is 4.005 inches. The plug is 21 inches in length and the small end diameter is 3.3398 inches. The taper size for this set is 29.825:1 on diameter. Also, the Coast Guard would like the manufacturer to recommend to the Coast Guard the type of material to use in the manufacturing of the gauge set. Contractors are requested to provide information on their ability to manufacture this type of gauge set (experience), type of material to use, any literature the company may have about the type of gauge set they currently manufacturer, type of business (large or small), warranty information, identify if the gauge set is a commercial item, customarily used by other then the government and any other information the contractor may think is pertinent. The Coast Guard will not pay for the requested information. Contractors are requested to provide this information by June 30, 2004.
