- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has initiated a program to investigate detection technologies that will identify human stowaways in break-bulk air cargo and air cargo consolidation containers prior to the introduction of the cargo onto an aircraft. The program may eventually lead to a formal test and evaluation of equipment with the potential for deployment. However at this time, a market survey is being conducted to solicit relevant information from system developers with respect to technologies or detection devices that may be able to accomplish the screening mission. This Request for Information (RFI) is not considered a formal request for proposal. The TSA does not plan on making an award or developing a source list based on responses to this RFI. The TSA will not reimburse any preparation costs associated with responses to this RFI. The primary objective of the market survey is to develop a comparative listing of equipment/ technologies so that the TSA can assess the different options that are available for mitigating the risk of a human stowaway from boarding an aircraft. To maximize the utility of the listing, the TSA is requesting that system developers furnish the following information in their response: 1. Company/Organization Name 2. Point of Contact Data (Phone/FAX/email/Address) 3. Human Signature Detected 4. Technology Description 5. Photographs/Drawings/Illustrations 6. Concept of Operations 7. False Alarm Considerations
