Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued for solicitation number NOI5073. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-03. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Concern. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334516, which has a size standard of 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure on a sole source basis from Hirata Corporation a EZ-TAXISCAN SYSTEM (qty-1); HOLDER ASSEMBLY (qty-1); 10uM SYRINGE (qty-2); 25 uM SYRINGE (qty-1); SYRINGE GUIDE (qty-2); CHIP SET (qty-1); CHIP SET (qty-1); CHIP SET (qty-1); CHIP SET (qty-1). This system and accessories is intended to be procured from Hirata Corporation, the only known vendor with a EZTAXISCAN novel instrument that permits direct real time analysis of cell migration to chemo attractant factors and can provide accurate and quantitative results even using small numbers of cells. Cell movement filmed by a high performance CCD camera and digitally and recorded. (A) The instruments must be able to both observe movement in the chemotaxis chamber and to quantify this movement. (B) It permits this in a concentration gradient that is stable for up to an hour. (C) Both initial and transitory effects of chemo attraction can be observed with EZTAXISCAN. (D) Chemotaxis can be distinguished from chemo kinesis by direct observation. (E) Fugitaxis can be evaluated. (F) Rate of movement and percent of responding cells can be directly assessed. (G) Six chambers permit comparative analysis of samples in any of these parameters. (H) As few as 100 cells can be used. Anticipated Date of delivery ? By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee shall be registered in the CCR at www.ccr.gov/ prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract, basic agreement, basic ordering agreement, or blanket purchasing agreement resulting from this solicitation.
