- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Fluke Electronics Corp., Everett, WA, for a Fluke 9500B/3200, 3.3 GHz high performance oscilloscope work station. Sole source determination is based on the requirement to perform traceable calibration and support of an identical existing system. To perform required tasks, NIST must have an identical system. Fluke Electronics Corp. is the sole source manufacturer and provider of Fluke 905B system. Furthermore, purchase of a different system would not support our development of traceable calibration and system support procedures. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334515, and the size standard is 500 Employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the government will consider responses received by June 6, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposal acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
