Description

The proposed contract listed here is unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification is 236220, size standard is $28.5 million. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Smithsonian Institution. The Pod 5 and Laboratory Space at MSC for NMNH will be built as an addition to the existing Museum Support Center. The Pod 5 project includes a storage facility, a Pod; a Laboratory (Optional); and Mobile compactor shelving system (Optional). This work will consolidate of the NMNH alcohol storage collection from Pod 3 and from the National Museum of Natural History Mall museum while accomodating the fire and safety design futures required for an alcohol based research and collection. The project includes sitework, including earthwork, underground utilities, excavation, drainage, foundation system, poured-in-place concrete structure; structural steel framing, deck, and imbeds; roofing systems, waterproofing, insulation, air/vapor barriers; specialty doors, hardware, hydraulic elevator; mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; fire protection (detection and suppression) systems; hydrocarbon gas detection system, security system; telecommunications foundation system, and other items and systems as indicated on the Construction Documents. Period of performance is (365 calendar days Base Bid and 540 calendar days with Options from date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
