- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to award a sole source purchase order to Improvision, located in Lexington, MA, to provide a 3-dimensional imaging system for live cells. USUHS is seeking a system capable of acquiring stacks of images over time and then rendering those images in three dimensions. The system shall consist of a complete 2D/3D/4D imaging software package from a single manufacturer providing acquisition, rendering, deconvolution, measurement, colocalization, object tracing, charting and publication of volumes and time-resolved volumes. The software shall be capable of running on the 64-bit version of the Windows operating system. The system must also be compatible with a Zeiss Axiovert 200 motorized microscope. The statutory authority permitting this award under other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1 that authorizes USUHS to award a contract when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
