- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole sourc e basis with Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc., 1000 Alfred Nobel Drive, Hercules, CA 94547. This effort is to provide the Government with a Real-Time PCR instrument that utilizes a 96 well format, contains a cooling/heating unit capable of maintaining sample tem peratures between the ranges of 4?C to 90?C, and provides easy access to removable fluorescence filters so that they can be changed as needed to accommodate experimental conditions. Bio-Rad Laboratories is the only manufacturer of a Real-Time PCR instrument that meets program requirements on well format, sample temperature range, and removable fluorescence filters. Additionally, the Bio-Rad Laboratories Real-Time PCR instrument offer s analysis of 96 samples in approximately 1 hour with the ability to analyze samples containing up to 4 fluorescent reporters in each reaction; also a program requirement.
