- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, North Carolina is in need of a contractor for the design and installation of adding additional radiation shielding for a high energy Linear Accelerator in a radiation oncology suite to replace a Varian Clinac 18, 10 MeV linear accelerator with a 6/15 MeV, Varian 21 EX accelerator. Contractor is required to be regularly engaged in this type of work and have a minimum of five years experience. After contract award, the contractor shall prepare a shielding plan with sufficient installation details for the physicist to review and approve prior to construction. Bidding material will be available on/about June 8, 2005. The official plan holders' list can be printed from the web site only. All prospective offerors and plan centers are encouraged to register as plan holders on the web site. Amendments/notices to the solicitation, if any, will be posted to the web. The web will be the only method of distributing the solicitation. It is the offerors responsibility to check the web site periodically for any amendments/notices to the solicitation. Location and points of contact for site visits will be identified in the solicitation. The cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. NAICS: 238990. Size Standard: $12.0.
