Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to awrd on a sole source basis, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Dollar Threshold of $100,000) a firm fixed price award to Institute of Medicare of the National Academies, Manager of Contracts and Grants, 500 Fifth Street, Washington, DC 20001. The purpose of this statement of work is for CMS to gain valuable insight and information from the Institute of Medicine?s Roundtable on Health Literacy. CMS writes numerous publications which are distributed to Medicare beneficiaries. Within the next year beneficiaries will be receiving CMS publications that will provide information on the decisions that they will be required to make regarding the new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage. It is imperative that these publications are easy for beneficiaries to navigate and comprehend. By participating in the Roundtable for Health Literacy, CMS has the opportunity to collaborate with both the public and private sector to more clearly understand the issues involving health literacy. Participating in the Roundtable will benefit the target audiences of CMS?s publications. This Health Literacy Roundtable provides CMS with the opportunity to collaborate with federal agencies, non-profit groups and private companies that work in the health care industry on issues pertaining to health literacy. Participating in the Roundtable will provide CMS with the opportunity to enhance communications with Medicare beneficiaries. All responsible sources may submit capability statements in consideration to the Agency at the above address. In addition, all contractors must be registered with the Central Contractors Registration System (CCR) at www.ccr.gov.
