- Cleaning and Refurbishment Services of F/A-18 A/B/C/D Aviation Canopies in support of Commander Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic (COMSTRKFIGHTWINGLANT) Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The refurbishment of the aircraft canopies is required in order to restore optical clarity. It is the intent of the government to establish a firm fixed price contract. This acquisition will be limited to those small business firms that are certified under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 488190. Offerors shall provide equipment tools and materials required to perform required maintenance services. Services shall include but no limited to: (1) Cleaning and refurbishment of single and two-seat aircraft canopies; (2) Returning the canopy (transparencies) to a designated Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) cleaned, polished and clear of all surface scratches or hazing with a definite improvement in optical clarity and; (3) Providing, at a minimum! , one person to serve as Refurbishment Team Supervisor who shall conduct liaison between the government and the offeror. The offeror shall utilize only approved methods and materials in the performance of this process as set forth in General Spec-A2C31031-90 issued December 17, 2004. The Offeror shall certify that they have reviewed all specifications and references of this requirement and that they understand the procedures necessary for the performance of the process. Offerors shall obtain certification from Naval Air Depot, North Island, CA (NAVAIR) prior to award in order to perform required refurbishment procedures. Point of contact for certification qualifications is Don Harmston at (619) 545-9737. Solicitation N00189-05-R-0023 is for a base period of 12 months with four additional one-year options. This solicitation will be issued on or around 17 June 2005. Estimated start date of contract is 1 Aug 2005. All responsible sources must submit pricing and past p! erformance data by 4:00 p.m. on the date the offer is due. Potential offerors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the solicitation will only be available by downloading the documents at http://www.neco.navy.mil or FEDBIZOPPS at http://ww.fedbizopps.gov. This office will not longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting a proposal, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any Federal Agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the proposal.
