Description
The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, on behalf of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) Center, proposes to acquire on a sole source basis Engineering and Technical Services from AAI Corporation, 124 I ndustry Lane, Hunt Valley, MD 21030-0126. The proposed acquisition consists of a basic effort of 135 manhours, and range options covering 60 months (range 1 thru 205,000 manhours), and associated other direct costs incidental to the performance of the se rvices to support the Joint Technology Center/System Integration Laboratory (JTC/SIL) in technology integration, evaluation, test, demonstration and operational exercise of the contractors existing and emerging fleet of UAV systems. The contractor shall provide technical, engineering, scientific, and logistical expertise to support the JTC/SIL in the areas of research, development, integration, experimentation, test and evaluation, and operation of UAV systems and subsystems. Engineering and technical se rvices will range from concept exploration through specification formulation, development, test, integration, training, fielding and sustainment operations. During the course of performance of this effort, integration of other contractor commercial produc ts, processes and components may be required in order to achieve the required capability. Pursuant to the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source will satisfy agency requirements. AAI Corp is the only so urce with the technical knowledge and expertise required to accomplish the required technology integration efforts for AAIs fleet of UAV systems.
