Description
NOUN: Metallic Air Seal; NSN: 2840-01-454-9473NZ; PN: 4082994-01; QTY: 639 (FMS); U/I: Each; DELIVERY: Beginning Jan 2006 or after First Article Approval to Tinker AFB OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100 PW ENGINES; SIZE/DIMENSIONS: Approx 4.87 in X 11.03 in X 0.25 in thick ; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: Nickel Alloy ; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: Balance seals limit the amount of exhaust gas pressure escaping between the nozzle segments. The seals also have heat resistant coating that protect the balance segments from high exhaust gas temperatures. Anticipated Solicitation Issue Date: 3 June 2005; Anticipated Award Date: 30 July 2005. No telephone solicitation requests well be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Government Furnished drawings will not be provided with the solicitation. Due to approval requirements, if a potential source wishes to have a formal solicitation, one will be supplied. The award is expected to be made to an approved source. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program Manager or Contracting Officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
