- Description
- The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to issue a commerical items (FAR Part 12.5) purchase order on a sole source basis under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302, ?Other Than Full and Open Competition?, to Alfa Laval (or its authorized dealers) for two (2) each distiller units, JWP-26-C80 for NOAA Ship GORDON GUNTER, which currently is outfitted with Alfa Laval JWP-36-125. Alfa Laval is the only known source that manufactures this distiller unit to the specifications required by NOAA and that can maintain configuration management and standardization of equipment within the NOAA fleet. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received within eleven (11) days after the date of publication of this synopsis or June 2, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
